Research Operations Manager
PathMaker Neurosystems is a clinical-stage neurotechnology company developing a breakthrough non-invasive approach to the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neurological disorders. Our platform is based on our proprietary technology for multi-site direct current stimulation (Multi-Site DCS), which enables the modulation of neurons and circuits involved in the ALS disease process. PathMaker is collaborating with world-class institutions to bring to market first-in-class products for treating ALS and other neurological disorders with high unmet medical need.
We are seeking a resourceful and hands-on Research Operations Manager who will be based full-time at our Providence, Rhode Island office. As a core member of the multi-disciplinary PathMaker team and reporting to the CEO, this individual will be instrumental in further advancing and expanding our company’s neurotechnology capabilities. The successful candidate will provide scientific expertise to further develop our technology and product pipeline. This is NOT a remote position, and requires the selected applicant to reside in Rhode Island.
Background
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Molecular Pharmacology or Biomedical Engineering with 1-2 years of post-doctoral experience, with a research background in neurotechnology, neuromodulation, electrophysiology or ALS.
Position requirements
This position spans a variety of corporate activities, including writing scientific papers, developing posters and grant proposals, biostatistical analysis of clinical and preclinical data, managing some aspects of clinical trials, competitive analysis, external communications, and gaining depth in the neurotechnology and ALS fields. Specific skills include:
- Excellent and demonstrated writing ability with experience writing scientific papers, articles and white papers for publication in neuroscience journals.
- Proficiency in preparing and delivering well-written technical documents.
- Prior experience with proposal development and grant writing.
- Ability to draft and deliver effective presentations to scientific, medical and investor audiences.
- Proven multi-tasking skills in fast-paced environments, with track record of meeting critical deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, clinical, scientific, regulatory, intellectual property and business domains.
- Excellent communications skills in English.
- Proficiency in use of AI tools to enhance research, data analysis and operational efficiency.
